Twaranyuzwe means “we understood”, but the implied meaning is “the coffee farms are a benefit in daily life”. Producers work together through cooperatives, which fulfills a social and economic mission at the same time. The Twaranyuzwe cooperative was born in 2006 with a main activity of collecting the cherries of the members, to be forwarded in the existing coffee washing station of the state to avoid cases of theft during weighing and payment.
This coffee is fully washed and roasted for filter. It tastes fresh like green apples and has the sweetness and acidity of rhubarb. We love this high acidity Burundi!
